Organic Gardening: Give Your Garden the Gift of Compost!

Your garden will love this precious gift!
More than any other season of the year, this is the one when I cook from scratch.  That means I have lots of egg shells and vegetable peelings left over.  Even though it's hectic and cold and wet, do not forget that your kitchen peelings can be a gift to your garden, too!  So, I'm traipsing out to the compost tumbler and dumping them in.  By spring, they should be a lovely brown compost to be added to my hard clay soil.

The family is stirring, and the weatherman has whispered the "S"-word (SNOW!) for Christmas day so a few preparatory chores beckon.  But, while you're taking care of the plants and the animals, don't forget to take care of your family and yourself.

May this holy season be a greening time when you grow in joy and love with your family, and in grace and the knowledge of your Lord.

To everything, there is a purpose . . .
From my garden to yours,
Nancy
