If this is Tuesday . . .

Although beautiful, the trumpet vine is invasive.
Tomorrow is Watering and Weeding Wednesday here on the farm.  It will have to be an early morning since the mercury is supposed to top 98 tomorrow!  I suppose I'll have to weed quickly.  There's no chance of rain over the next 10 days so I expect I'll have to practice Soaking Sunday, too.

Despite grass peeping through the mulch,
those are tiny tomatoes you see!
Grass clippings in the faithful lawn sweeper.
The warm temperatures have really supercharged the grass and it's pushing up through the mulch that worked so well last year.  My trusty lawn sweeper will be getting a workout as I gather grass clippings from my yard and from my uncle's untreated pasture.  Hopefully, I'll have this done before Mowing and Mulching Monday rolls around again.

Yes, I have tried to implement a schedule, and, so far, nothing's happening on the appointed day.

Fertilizer Friday happened on Monday, which pushed Mowing and Mulching Monday back to Tie-It-Up Tuesday, which may be postponed until Research Thursday.

Confused?  Well, it makes perfect sense in my head.  Besides, each day's goal is just the beginning for each day.  Here's how the schedule is supposed to work:

Mowing and Mulching Monday:  pretty self-explanatory, although the sweeping of the mulch will happen on another day.

The primocanes need
to be tied to the trellis.
Tie-It-Up Tuesday:  The blackberries and tomatoes require constant tying up.  On Tuesday, I make a thorough sweep of all the plants.

Weeding and Watering Wednesday:  One begets the other, doesn't it?

Research and Writing Thursday:  I do write more than one day a week, but I'm trying to organize my time more efficiently.  I'm easily distracted and could waste a lot of time chasing digital "wild geese."

Fertilizer Friday:  I'm trying to fertilize--or check for fertilizer--all of the garden each week.  I plan to alternate Black Kow manure and Alaska fish emulsion, with an occasional dose of Miracle-Gro Organic Choice bone meal.

The garden patches are watered
with soaker hoses under mulch.
Spouse's Choice Saturday:  I try to let the Resident Dragon set the schedule on his day off.  Sometimes, we do yard work, but the schedule really varies.

Soaking Sunday:  Sunday is our day off, although we can usually find the time to turn on the sprinkler.

So, that's the week.  I'm hoping it helps provide some structure for my days, and helps remind me of the major garden tasks.

How do you keep up with your busy schedule?

Nancy
